Albert's, Inc. shares a long standing history and tradition.

Mr. Albert Rothbart started the Albert's Loan Office pawnshop in Johnson City, Tennessee in the 1920's and operated it for nearly 50 years until he passed away in the early 1970's.

At that time, his daughter and son-in-law, Harriet R. and Rufus Z. Luster purchased the business. Over the next 20 + years, Mr. and Mrs. Luster grew the business into three locations by adding Albert's Loan Office pawnshop in Bristol, TN and Uncle Sam's Loan Office pawnshop in Bristol, TN.
Upon the death of Mr. Luster, Marcus Nachman, Harriet's son, purchased the businesses and formed Albert's, Inc. in 2002. Marcus opened the Angry Penguin, a skateboard & BMX bicycle shop in Johnson City in 2003; Strings, a music store in Bristol in 2007; and Angry Penguin, a skateboard & BMX bicycle shop in Kingsport in 2011.
